Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
Desktop Pet ("we," "our," or "the Extension") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Desktop Pet handles — and, more importantly, what it doesn't — when you use the Chrome extension.
1. Information We Collect
Desktop Pet does not collect, sell, or share any personal information. The extension does not require an account, does not track your browsing activity, and does not transmit data to any external server.
The only information the extension stores is your own preferences — which pet you picked and the size you set it to — and that information stays in your browser's local storage on your device.
2. How Your Settings Are Stored
Your pet selection and size preference are saved using Chrome's local storage APIs so they persist between browsing sessions. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or to any third party.
Uninstalling the extension removes this stored data along with it.
3. Permissions We Request
Desktop Pet requests only the browser permissions needed to display the pet on the pages you visit and to remember your chosen settings. We do not request permissions to read page content, access your history, or identify you personally.
4. Third-Party Services
Desktop Pet does not integrate with analytics platforms, advertising networks, or any other third-party service that would receive information about you or your browsing.
5. Children's Privacy
Desktop Pet is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any user.
6. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
7. Contact Us
